An Opportunity to Right a Wrong

Along with the rest of Manitoba, we were appalled to learn of the incident in January involving the RM of St. Andrews’ Council member, Matthew Prychun. Laughing at and mocking a person who uses a mobility aid is egregious conduct by anyone, least of all a public servant. After taking some time to reflect on this incident and weighing the merits of adding our voice to the public outcry, we have decided to use this terrible event to bring attention to another kind of discrimination faced by persons with disabilities—systemic discrimination.
