Making Employment Work Event to Identify Priorities

Jan 27, 2016

We are pleased to invite you to attend a community workshop that is being cohosted by Barrier-Free Manitoba and the Manitoba Supported Employment Network (MSEN) on February 19th. The theme of the workshop is “identifying key priorities to tear down barriers to labour market success faced by persons with disabilities.”

1 pm to 4:30 pm
Friday, February 19, 2016
Holiday Inn Winnipeg-Airport West
2520 Portage Ave

The workshop is primarily meant for representatives from community-based disability organizations actively working on employment issues. The workshop is of particular importance as an advisory committee, established under The Accessibility for Manitobans Act, has just begun work on drafting the Accessible Employment Standard. We are hoping that priorities identified at the workshop can held shape the initial discussion paper due to be released soon after the April election.

Due to space constraints, first come, first serve registration is limited to two persons per community-based agency (a waiting list will be kept of additional persons who wish to attend). To register, please contact (and identify any accommodation needs) Brenda Deamel (bdeamel@lifeworks.mb.ca / 204.775.9402) by noon on Tuesday, February 16th.

We are pleased to provide Word and PDF versions of a mini-poster for the workshop for your review and further distribution.
