Accessibility Legislation Models

A standards-based approach to accessibility legislation is not new. The United States passed this type of legislation in 1990, Australia passed similar legislation in 1992, the United Kingdom in 2005 and Ontario in 2005.

Take a look at what is working elsewhere in the world. In this section, we present a brief overview of the legislation and some resources on the evaluation of the particular act to see the effect it has actually had in the lives of people with disabilities.
