Chronology of Key Developments Leading to the Legislation

Barrier-Free Manitoba is pleased to provide a chronology of the key developments that led to the passage of The Accessibility for Manitobans Act on December 3, 2013 and its proclamation on December 5 when it received Royal Assent.

The developments are organized and presented in the following two sub-sections.

Leading to Passage of The Accessibility Advisory Council Act

Developments that led to the passage of The Accessibility Advisory Council Act in June 2011 are presented in BFM 1.0.

Through to Passage of Strong and Effective Accessibility-Rights Legislation

Developments from August 2011 to December 2013 that led to the passage of The Accessibility for Manitobans Act are presented in BFM 2.0.
