BFM Releases Backgrounders on Weak Implementation of the AMA

Jun 01, 2018

Barrier-Free Manitoba has released backgrounders on the major shortfalls to date in government's implementation of the landmark Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA). The AMA was passed in 2013 with unanimous all member, all party support with the promise of making major progress toward full accessibility by 2023.

That promise is being broken due to weak implementation.

The backgrounders cover the following six priority concerns:

1. Lack of Effective Leadership
2. Lack of Timeliness
3. Inadequate Resources
4. No Compliance Framework
5. Lack of Community Engagement
6. Lack of Breadth

We are pleased to post the documents for your download and review
