ADNM and DMV2016 Launch Lawn Re-Purposing Contest with Cash Prizes

May 10, 2016

Arts & Disability Network Manitoba, and Disability Matters: Vote 2016 are excited to announce this creative contest with six cash prizes in two categories that is open to all Manitobans.

The DMV2016 lawn signs were beautiful. But their usefulness was time limited. With the provincial election over, the easiest option may be to recycle them (where this is possible - and many may have already done this).

Another great, probably better, option is the re-purpose the signs - make them into something else all together. So we decided to see what could be done with them to evolve into something more than "just" lawn signs. And who better to ask than the crafty, ingenius, artistic, creative thinkers of Manitoba?

Yes, there are cash prizes of $100, $50 and $25 in two categories:

  • Most Useful Repurposing of signs
  • Most Creative Repurposing of signs

We invite all those who still have lawn signs to participate in the contest. And if you want to participate but have recycled yours or never had one, you can pick us surplus DMV2016 lawn signs at a number of locations around Winnipeg. Partner agencies who were part of the DMV2016 campaign may also have surplus signs to give out.

For more information on how to participate, go to: http://www.adnm.ca/projects/adnm-dmv2016-contest.html

The entry deadline in May 31, 2016.

And help spread news of the contest by downloading and sharing the contest poster (Word / PDF).

(Note the the ADNM site is virus-free. I get false positive warnings from the Anti-Virus program on my Mac. I just override it.)
